THE POWER OF THE CROSS

THE POWER OF THE CROSS

1 Corinthians 1:18  For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish, foolishness; but to us who are saved, it is the power of God. Webster's Bible Translation

When Christ  was crucified it was a powerful event. The message of the cross is the power of God because Jesus Christ, died for the sins of mankind, He died to defeat sin, death, and the devil, HEB. 2:9, HEB 2:14-15. The power of the cross redeems us and we obtain remission and forgiveness of our sins (Col. 1:14).We are delivered from God’s wrath by the power of the Cross. (Rom. 5:9).The  power of the cross redeems broken and fallen people. The power of the cross being a great expression of love. JOHN 3:16

1 Peter 3:18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but made alive by the Spirit: Webster's Bible Translation

We have access to God because of Jesus death on the cross (Heb. 10:19-20).
The power of the Cross brings saints into the presence of God, transforming our life.  Also now we are converted we can have forgiveness of sins when we fall short. By the death of Jesus Christ on the cross We are not only reconciled to God but to people as well  Eph. 2:11-22.

Webster's Bible Translation
JOHN 3:14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: 3:15 that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

Jesus was lifted up on the cross from the earth when he was crucified. All who look to Him in repentance and faith will be saved. ACTS 2:38

2 CORINTHIANS 5:15 And that he died for all, that they who live should not henceforth live to themselves, but to him who died for them, and rose again. Webster's Bible Translation

We see in 2 Corinthians 12:20-21 that Paul was not pleased about various sins people were committing and also they had not repented.

But if we are living for ourselves because of god's mercy we can repent of our sinful way of life.

So let us be encouraged to humble ourselves and have that relationship with God.
Being grateful for what he has done on the cross.
